Honda Ridgeline production goes on hold
Built in Honda's Lincoln, Alabama, plant, the next generation is due to begin production in early 2016.
Honda will end production of the current Ridgeline in September 2014, according to a report in Wards Auto. Built in Honda's Lincoln, Alabama, plant, the next generation is due to begin production in early 2016. Honda sold 55,600 units of the Ridgeline in its best year, 2006, factoring in all markets. The truck-meets-SUV was not a strong seller and the recession dropped sales quickly. While sales rose in 2012 and 2013 along with the rest of the market, the IHS Automotive global sales forecast indicates only 19,820 units are expected to be sold, with 17,309 of those in the United States.
