IHS Automotive projects that Nissan's Mississippi plant will build nearly 460,000 units annually by 2015.

Nissan has begun construction of a one-million-square-foot supplier logistics centre near their Canton, Mississippi assembly plant. The automaker is looking to get more suppliers to locate there, as they prepare for 2014 production of the Nissan Murano. The plant is hoped to provide for another 400 supplier jobs. The Canton facility opened in 2003, and currently builds the Altima, Sentra, Armada, Xterra, Frontier and full-size NV commercial vans. Nissan has not yet identified which suppliers will occupy the space.
