General Motors (GM) investing in additional Spring Hill, Tennessee plant expansion
GM did not indicate that the investment would increase plant capacity.
General Motors (GM) today announced additional investment in their Spring Hill, Tennessee facility, bringing planned investment to USD350 million. The additional spending adds USD167 million to the previously announced USD183 million, and will create or help retain about 1,800 jobs at the facility. USD40 million is being added to support one future mid-size product, and another USD127 million for a second product. The investment adds to existing manufacturing operations, including assembly, stamping, engine, and component parts production.
