IHS Automotive forecasts Honda's North American production to grow from 1.69 million vehicles in 2012 to 1.92 million vehicles in 2015.

Honda North America is planning to invest USD180 million to the engine plant in Anna, Ohio, to boost aluminium die-casting and engine parts production. The investment will support engine parts production for the new Honda Earth Dreams Technology engines and transmissions, as well as a training centre for powertrain employees. Earth Dreams is an umbrella classification for a new generation of fuel-efficient, high-output engines sized from 1.3 litres to 3.5 litres. The Earth Dreams project includes gas and diesel engines, a hybrid engine system, a battery-powered electric drive system and a continuously variable transmission.
