Mazda investing USD120 mil. in new engine plant with Sumitomo
New plant will ultimately have capacity to build 230,000 SKYACTIV engines for installation in Mazda2 and Mazda3 units
Mazda is increasing its investment in the Mexican joint-venture (JV) with Sumitomo announced last year, adding an engine machining factory to the vehicle assembly facility under construction in Salamanca. Vehicle assembly is due to begin the fourth quarter of 2014 and the engine plant open by October 2014.
