Nissan NV200 New York taxi production starts in Mexico

Nissan has started building a version of the NV200 small commercial van designed for use as a New York taxi, at its Cuernavaca #1 factory in Morelos, Mexico. Nissan Mexicana has said that the plant is operating 23 hours a day, with demand exceeding supply for vehicles produced there – including Tsuru, Versa and NV200. Mexican production of the NV200 began in January 2013, with the taxi version added this month.
