General Motors (GM) adds wireless smartphone charging for some vehicles
Powermat Technologies Ltd. will offer wireless smartphone charging on some 2014 models.
General Motors (GM) will start offering wireless charging for smartphones in some 2014 models. GM is an investor in a wireless charging system maker Powermat. Toyota and Chrysler are offering a similar system in selected models. GM invested USD5 million in Powermat to promote the use of wireless-charging in cars, and had said that the Volt would be the first car to get the system – as soon as mid-2012.
