Volvo Trucks to end Turkish truck manufacturing contract with Karsan
Two parties have decided not to renew their six-year deal to manufacture Renault-branded trucks in Turkey
Volvo Trucks and Turkish commercial vehicle manufacturer Karsan have agreed to end their contract for local assembly of Renault-branded heavy-duty trucks for the Turkish market this year, according to a Volvo Group press release. Volvo Trucks, which owns French truck-maker Renault Trucks, produces Renault-branded trucks that weigh 7.5 tonnes or above at Karsan's Bursa plant in Marmara (Turkey). Volvo Trucks currently has more than 25 dealers and workshops in Turkey, through which the company serves customers of both Volvo- and Renault-branded trucks.
