Ford restarts Spanish production after three-week shutdown
Model changes are expected to help lift production in 2013 by almost 53% y/y to around 200,000 units and then to double again during the next two years to over 400,000 units
Ford resumed production at its Almussafes site near Valencia (Spain) on Monday (19 August), reports Cinco Dias. The site had been closed for three weeks. The restart will also see its headcount number increase by 1,340 staff due to the beginning of production of the Transit Connect light commercial vehicle (LCV) as well as the addition of a nightshift from 2 September.
