Annual production capacity of the new factory is expected to be 120,000 units
Dongfeng Motor plans to open a new plant in China to focus on building new energy vehicles (NEVs), according to media reports. Dongfeng has begun preparatory work for a new NEV factory in Wuhan, said Liu Weidong, the company's general manager, at a press conference held in the city's development zone. The new premises will be less than 3 kilometres away from the automaker's existing factory and, as well as NEVs, will build conventional combustion engine vehicles.
