Strikes continue at Hyundai, Kia plans to hold fresh negotiations

Management is now preparing to open a new round of negotiations.

Hyundai's union workers staged their 10th partial strike today (5 September), reports Yonhap English News. About 46,000 workers downed tools again to press for their demands which include among other things, a special bonus amounting to 30% of the company's net profit, a hike of KRW130,000 (USD118.43) in basic pay and a one-year extension of the retirement age to 61.
