Nissan gains approval for Sunderland, UK site investment
Latest round of expansion at the automaker's already vastly productive site is intended to produce a new compact Infiniti model from 2015.
Nissan has announced that it has gained approval to extend its Sunderland (United Kingdom) facility. In a statement, the automaker said that GBP250 million (USD389.8 million), 25,000-square-metre site expansion had been rubberstamped by Sunderland City Council's Development Control Committee yesterday (4 September). It added that construction will begin in the coming weeks.
