Mercedes deliveries restart in France; EU continues talks over coolant solution with German government
High court decision lifts ban on local type approval for the models in question over the issue a banned air-conditioning refrigerant.
Mercedes-Benz has recommenced deliveries of its A-Class, B-Class, CLA-Class, and SL-Class models in France after a high court decision lifted the ban on local type approval for the models in question over the issue a banned air-conditioning refrigerant. According to press reports, the lifting of the ban of type approval for the vehicles is still only a preliminary measure, and is subject to ongoing discussions between the regulatory agencies involved in the dispute over Daimler's decision to not use the new r1234yf refrigerant standard, with the only option on the market having been developed by Honeywell and Du Pont, and posing an unnecessary fire risk according to Daimler's engineers.
