Audi starts local assembly of Q3 SUV in India
With the start of local assembly, Audi might be launching a lower-specification version of the model
Audi has started local assembly of its Q3 compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) in India, according to a report in the Economic Times. The model is produced at group company Skoda's plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, which currently produces the Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi Q5, and Audi Q7 for the luxury brand. "Local production of the Audi Q3 means that Audi India is now building all our 'Q' range models locally. This will reduce waiting times for our customers and will enable us to offer a wider range of versions in the market," said Joe King, Audi India's newly appointed head.
