PSA Peugeot-Citroën to stop production at Slovakian plant for two weeks
Result of weak demand for the Citroën C3 Picasso and Peugeot 208 models manufactured at the plant
PSA Peugeot-Citroën has announced temporary stoppages at its plant in Trnava, Slovakia, as a result of weak demand for the Citroën C3 Picasso and Peugeot 208 models manufactured at the plant, According to an Agence France-Presse (AFP) report the company is planning two additional week long production stoppages in an attempt to match inventory to demand for the models it manufactures. Plant spokesperson Peter Svec said, "The plant will suspend output for a week as of Monday." He added, "There will be another week-long halt from October to November," he said, adding that the plant in the western city of Trnava would also idle for another several days later on.
