Will accommodate production of completely knocked down units of newly launched Vios, as well as some component production.
Toyota plans to open its third vehicle manufacturing plant in Malaysia, reports the Business Times. The MYR22-million (USD6.8-million) plant, covering an area of 3,200 square metres, will be located in Shah Alam, where Toyota has its other two Malaysian plants. The plant will accommodate production of completely knocked down units of Toyota's newly launched Vios, as well as components for the sedan, including seat padding and headrests. In addition, the plant will produce vibration absorption foams for the Vios.
