Suppliers announce new expansions to produce automotive steel, aluminium in China

Automotive steel and aluminium suppliers are ramping up production capabilities in China as the market continues to grow with renewed growth stemming from the smaller tier cities in China.

Kobe Steel announced in a news release on 30 September that it was setting up a company in China to produce aluminium sheets for use in the automotive industry. The new facility will be established in the Xiqing Economic Technological Development Area in Tianjin and will make aluminium sheets for automotive body panels.
