GM-AvtoVAZ JV's production falls 10% in January–September period

Company forecasts that it will manufacturer around 58,000 units in 2013, down 8% on last year.

The joint venture (JV) between General Motors (GM) and AvtoVAZ to manufacturer the Chevrolet Niva sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Russia has seen its output decline by 10% year on year (y/y) in the first three quarters of the year to 41,485 units, according to a company press release. The GM-AvtoVAZ JV sold 41,342 units to dealers in the equivalent nine months, which was itself a decline of 10.8% y/y, with this figure including the 2,788 units exported to the CIS countries, which was an increase of 31.3%.
