The plant, while offering more capacity, enables the company to take advantage of the cost benefits of the Moroccan labour market.

The Renault-Nissan alliance inaugurated the second production line at its Moroccan vehicle manufacturing facility in Tangier yesterday (8 October), according to a company statement. The new line will become operational next year and will increase the Tangier plant's annual production capacity to 340,000 units. The second assembly line, which has been installed with an investment of EUR400 million (USD540 million), will produce two models in Renault's Dacia car range – the Sandero and the Sandero Stepway.
