Nissan to add third shift to second line at Sunderland, UK plant

Nissan has been working towards this point since 2012 when it first announced its intention to undertake 24-hour working at the site.

Nissan is planning to add a third shift to its second production line at its Sunderland (United Kingdom) plant, reports the Financial Times (FT). According to the newspaper, this will create an additional 400 jobs and result in 24-0hour vehicle production at the site. This shift is expected to take effect in early 2014.
