Toyota Boshoku opens seat plant in China

Japanese suppliers revisiting plans, previously put on hold, to expand in the China.

Japanese supplier Toyota Boshoku Corporation has started production at a new plant owned by its subsidiary Heyuan Toyota Boshoku China Company in the Chinese province of Guangdong. The new seat cover plant is a joint venture of which Toyota Boshoku owns 75% and Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group Component Company 25%. The USD4.14-million plant will mainly provide Toyota vehicles and will make seat covers for 230,000 Camry sedan units, Jiji Press reports.
