Nissan introduces night shift at Spanish plant, second-generation Qashqai to be revealed next week
Increase in output likely required to build up stocks before a transition to a new generation of this vehicle not set to be built at this site.
Nissan has announced that it is planning to introduce a night shift at its Barcelona (Spain) facility from next month, reports Expansión. The new shift, which is being implemented from 4 November, will be used to produce Renault-Nissan's X83-based light commercial vehicle (LCV). It added that it has required the contracting of a further 308 staff for the three months that it will be in place. In related news, the automaker has announced in a statement that its second-generation C-SUV Qashqai will be unveiled next week.
