Fiat's Serbian factory halts production due to supplier disruption
Striking workers at a transport company blocked railways and road networks.
Fiat has had to halt production operations at its Serbian production unit at the former Zastava manufacturing site in Kragujevac as suppliers have been unable to make deliveries as a result of transport strikes. According to a Reuters report supplier deliveries at the plant have ground to halt because of striking workers at a transport company blocked railways and road networks as s result of a dispute of unpaid wages. With the blockade having lasted for ten days now Fiat has now run through it parts inventories that are needed to maintain production.
