Ford recalls 2,600 Focus EVs
Vehicles affected were built between 5 September 2011 and 8 August 2013, and nearly all were sold in the United States.
Ford is recalling 2,600 Focus electric vehicles (EVs) because of a potential loss of power to the wheels while being driven. The problem may result from a software flaw associated with the powertrain control module; if the loss of power occurs, it prompts a "Stop Safely Now" warning on the dashboard cluster. Ford says braking and steering systems continue to operate normally during the problem, so the driver will be able to pull off the road.
