Japanese component supplier Takata to build factory in Hungary

To supply the growing car manufacturing base in the country and in neighbouring countries.

Japanese automotive component manufacturer Takata has announced the establishment of a new Hungarian subsidiary which will operate a new plant to build the company's range of safety systems, according to a company press release. The new subsidiary will be called Takata Safety Systems Hungary Kft, and its plant will be located in the northern city of Miskolc. It will eventually employ up to 1,000 people, with Takata investing a total amount of EUR68.3 million (USD92.2 million) in the facility. Construction will begin immediately with the plan being for the factory to begin manufacturing operations in October 2014.
