Thai Rung Union Car mulls new plant
THB500-million (USD15.7-million) facility is due to come on stream by end-2014, producing bodies for commercial trucks.
Thai Rung Union Car (TRU), a Thai publicly listed vehicle assembler and component manufacturer, plans to build its third factory in Rayong next year, reports the Bangkok Post, citing the company's managing director, Sompong Phaoenchoke. The THB500-million (USD15.7-million) facility is due to come on stream by end-2014, producing bodies for commercial trucks under a joint venture (JV) with a Japanese truck-maker. "The new investment plan will be disclosed in next year's first quarter, but production will be determined by domestic demand for trucks," said Phaoenchoke.
