AvtoVAZ temporarily suspends Kalina and Granta production
Balancing production levels with demand patterns.
AvtoVAZ has announced that it has ceased production of its Kalina and Granta models between 25 and 30 November in order to adjust inventory levels of cars, spare parts and assembly kits. According to a Skrin newswire report, the company is balancing production levels with demand patterns, with sales of the Kalina in particular having plummeted in 2013. The employees that have been idled for the five-day lay-off will receive two-thirds of their salaries in accordance with the Labour Code of the Russian Federation.
