Isuzu Chennai plant on track to become operational in 2016
INR30 billion investment is for our plant in Sri City will be operational in 2016
Isuzu has started selling its locally assembled MU-7 sport utility vehicle (SUV) in India, according to a report in the Hindustan Times. The model, priced at INR2.23 million (USD36,563) in Chennai, is being produced at Hindustan Motors' Thiruvallur assembly plant in Chennai under a contract manufacturing agreement. Meanwhile, the Japanese automaker's plant near Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, is on track to start production in 2016, said a senior executive at the launch of the model.
