Start of production of new GM-AvtoVAZ Niva scheduled for December 2015
AvtoVAZ also working on an all-new SUV design with Renault-Nissan due to be launched in 2017.
The joint venture (JV) between General Motors (GM) and AvtoVAZ has confirmed that it will begin production of the new version of the Chevrolet Niva sport utility vehicle (SUV) in December 2015, according to a Skrin newswire report. The prototype is being worked on by Italian engineering contractor Blue Engineering and will be ready for development testing in March next year, according to the report, with a production prototype ready for to show at next August's Moscow Motor Show.
