VW recalls Jetta Hybrid on faulty gearbox oil
Recall impacts the DQ200 transmission, which VW uses for vehicles from the Audi, Seat, Skoda, and Volkswagen brands.
Volkswagen (VW) is recalling the Jetta Hybrid to address an issue with gearbox oil that could put the vehicle into a "stall-like" state, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Additives in the transmission oil used for the seven-speed dual dry-clutch transmission can leave deposits inside the transmission, which could cause some of the gearbox's internal electronic components to corrode, short out, and make the car feel as it if it is stalling, NHTSA has said.
