UK light-vehicle production falls in November
But year-to-date figure for passenger cars remains in positive territory, up 4.5% year on year.
Vehicle manufacturing in the United Kingdom suffered a downturn during November according to the latest data published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). Passenger car output in the country contracted in the month by 3.6% year on year (y/y) to 137,624 units, although the year-to-date (YTD) figure for this category remains in positive territory, up 4.5% y/y at 1,424,023 units. The trade association has also reported that commercial vehicle (CV) output tumbled by 35.7% y/y to 7,051 units last month, meaning that CV production in the YTD has now fallen by 21.5% y/y to 82,535 units.
