Chrysler Canada plans new product for Windsor plant
IHS Automotive's production forecast indicates a new electric multi-purpose vehicle (E-MPV) and the Town & Country for Windsor, with a start of production for both in autumn 2015
Chrysler Canada's management has notified trade union officials at the company's Windsor assembly plant in Ontario that the facility is in line for new product, reports the Windsor Star. Chrysler's Canadian unit has not yet issued a formal statement on the matter. The Unifor union's Local 444 vice-president, Mike Lovric, said: "We're waiting for an official announcement, which could come any time now." He added he has received a 2014 production schedule from the automaker that shows down weeks in November and December 2014, prompting speculation that the time could be used for model turnover.
