UK vehicle production reaches 1.5 million units in 2013
Recently announced investments should result in further future production growth.
Passenger car production in the United Kingdom grew by 3.1% year on year (y/y) in 2013, according to the latest data published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). Production in the country increased from 1,464,906 units in 2012 to 1,509,762 units, despite a retreat in the final month of the year of 15.9% y/y to 85,566 units.
