Ford, Renault to source small engines from Indian units

Both Ford and Renault have invested heavily in their production operations in India with a view to exports.

Ford and Renault are reportedly considering sourcing small engines from their Indian arms. According to a report in The Economic Times, Ford India is expected to supply 400,000 units of 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre gasoline (petrol) engines called Dragon, which will be ready by fiscal year FY 2016/17.
