Toyota holds groundbreaking ceremony for new Indonesian engine plant
The plant will have an annual production capacity of 216,000 units and will produce engines for passenger cars, with about 50% of the output marked for exports.
Toyota held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new engine plant in Indonesia today (25 February). According to a company statement, the new plant will be located near Toyota's two vehicle manufacturing plants in Karawang, West Java. The company will invest JPY23 billion (USD224.5 million) towards the establishment of the engine plant, which is scheduled to become operational by early 2016.
