Volkswagen (VW) to launch locally assembled Jetta in Malaysia next month

Volkswagen (VW) plans to launch the locally assembled version of its Jetta sedan in Malaysia during March, reports the Business Times. VW currently sells the completely built-up (CBU) model of the Jetta in the country, at a price of MYR151,888 (USD46,319). Last month, the company began manufacturing the completely knocked down (CKD) version of the sedan at its Pekan plant in Pahang (Malaysia). Other models that VW assembles at the Pekan plant include the Passat sedan and the hatchback and sedan models of the Polo. The company jointly runs the plant with Malaysian conglomerate DRB-Hicom.
