BASF works on new automotive EV battery technologies
BASF has purchased four companies, set up a nickel-cobalt-manganese production plant in the United States, and bought licences from Mitsubishi Chemical.
BASF has targeted battery materials as one of the company's long-term growth areas, according to a Bloomberg report. The company is predicting long-term expansion of the market for electric vehicles (EVs) and is using its chemical products to create battery technologies that will increase their power and range.
