Mazda resumes production at Hofu plant following earthquake

Mazda has resumed operations at its plants in Yamaguchi prefecture, Japan, following a 6.3 magnitude earthquake that hit the region Friday, 14 March. The two Mazda plants, Hofu 1 and Hofu 2 were closed following the earthquake on Friday.

The plants resumed production later on Friday night. The Hofu 1 plant resumed work operations at 16:15, while the Hofu 2 plant resumed at 17:00 on 14 March, according to Mazda spokesperson Makoto Watanabe, as quoted by Reuters.
