Lock-out continues at Toyota's Indian plants, state government likely to step in to end deadlock
Failure to agree likely to see matter escalated to the Karnataka state government.
The stand-off between Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) and the workers' union at the company's two plants in Bagalore is continuing with neither side willing to make concessions, reports the Economic Times. While earlier efforts to end the impasse between TKM and the union did not result in success, the labour ministry remains hopeful and has asked both parties to meet today (19 March) in an effort to reach an agreement.
