General Motors (GM) issues new recalls
GM is under intense scrutiny over ignition-switch recall.
General Motors (GM) has issued new recalls and expanded the ignition-switch recall. The ignition-switch recall now includes a total of 2.59 million units worldwide. The additional vehicles include the 2008–10 Chevrolet Cobalt, 2008–11 Chevrolet HHR, 2008–10 Pontiac Solstice, 2008–10 Pontiac G5, and 2008–10 Saturn Sky vehicles; previously, the recall affected only vehicles from the 2007 model year. Additionally, 490,000 2014 Chevrolet Silverados, GMC Sierra 1500 pickups, 2015 Chevrolet Tahoes and Suburbans, and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL full-size SUVs are being recalled because a transmission oil-cooler line may not be securely seated in its fitting, which could cause transmission oil to leak, drip onto a hot surface, and possibly catch fire.
