SKF supplies solutions to Volkswagen (VW)'s first full electric car
Swedish bearing specialist SKF supplies Volkswagen with energy efficient bearings to the E-powertrain of their first full electric vehicle, the e-up!.
The company is supplying SKF eDrive Ball Bearings and customized tapered roller bearings to the gearbox and electric motor of the e-up!, launched the second half of 2013. According to a company release, the solutions help to reduce the friction and noise in the E-powertrain, enabling an extended driving range of the vehicle.
