Expects to be making vehicles in China within three to four years

esla is setting up operations in a former Chrysler parts-distribution facility and looking to hire more employees, according to a Detroit Free Press story. The newspaper reports that Tesla has leased an idled parts-distribution facility in Lathrop, California. The company said, "Tesla is continuing to invest and create jobs in California as part of our ongoing infrastructure expansion. In the last two months, we have signed leases for more than 625,000 square feet of California real estate, independent of sales and service centres." As Tesla delivered its first eight Model S sedans to Chinese customers on 22 April 2014, Bloomberg reported that Elon Musk said he expects to be making vehicles in China within three to four years, as well as building a "big" network of battery-charging stations in China.
