Japan's Sumitomo Chemical will increase domestic production of materials used in lithium-ion batteries for US electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Tesla Motors amid brisk sales of the new Model S in the United States, Europe, and Asia, reports financial daily the Nikkei.
