Toyota considering sourcing hybrid parts locally for Camry, Prius in China
Move likely to help in reducing upfront cost, avoid 25% tariff levied on imports of auto parts
Toyota plans to use locally made parts for its Camry and Prius hybrids in China in a bid to drive cost down and increase sales of the vehicles in the country, reports Bloomberg citing a comment from the Japanese automaker’s China head Hiroji Onishi at the Beijing auto show earlier this month.
