Astra International unveils investment plan to boost output capacity for Toyota, Daihatsu vehicles in Indonesia
Pplans to increase the combined capacity of its Astra Daihatsu and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia units to 780,000 vehicles by the end of this year, up from the current 700,000.
Indonesian conglomerate PT Astra International Tbk plans to invest in boosting the output capacity for Toyota- and Daihatsu-brand vehicles in the country. According to a Reuters report, the conglomerate has unveiled a IDR20-trillion (USD1.73-billion) investment plan for the year, with the largest (undisclosed) allocation set aside for the automotive unit, which comprises vehicle manufacturing and distribution interests in brands such as Toyota, Daihatsu, Isuzu, and Peugeot.
