Buick makes backup cameras standard ahead of deadline
Likely that manufacturers will make the feature standard ahead of regulations, particularly those in the premium segment.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently announced the regulations and process for making rear-view cameras standard in all vehicles by May 2018, prompting Buick to join the small list of companies making such systems standard on all of its models sooner than required.
