FCA to use 5 common architectures and invest in accessible powertrain technologies

Among the areas of discussion during the recent Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Investor Day were the company's plans for global architecture and standardisation, as well as using combinations of powertrain and vehicle demand energy technologies to reach emissions targets, and reducing architecture families from 12 in 2013 to nine in 2018.
