Drastic overhaul of cost structures is needed to improve profitability,

Japanese manufacturers of car navigation systems aim to stage a comeback after seeing their business hit by the advent of smartphones in recent years, reports the Nikkei financial daily. To this end, these companies are seeking to incorporate the latest technology into their products. Pioneer will install its latest navigation system, the Carrozzeria Cyber Navi, in Honda Fit hybrids starting from 18 July at 40 Orix car rental and sharing locations across Japan. The system projects route information onto the windshield so that the driver's focus on the road remains unhindered.
