Philippine vehicle output increases 13% y/y in January−April
Automakers await long-pending roadmap for the Philippines' automotive industry, which was initially planned to be unveiled last year.
The Philippines' vehicle output increased by 13% year-on-year (y/y) during January-April of 2014, according to data released by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Automotive Federation (AAF). New vehicle production increased to 26,318 units, up from 23,285 units during the period last year. New vehicle sales in the Philippines during the four-month period stood at 69,737 units, compared to 57,128 units during the same period of 2013, representing an increase of 22.1% y/y.
