NHTSA probes 200,000 Nissan cars and 110,000 Dodge Ram trucks in US
Alleged incidents of excessive brake-pedal travel
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has started investigations into 200,000 Nissan cars over braking issues, reports the Detroit News. According to the agency, the initial investigation covers 2013–14 Nissan Sentra and Versa cars after it received eight complaints alleging incidents of excessive brake-pedal travel since late 2012. In addition, the federal safety agency has started investigations into 110,000 older Dodge Ram pick-ups that may have faulty interlocks to prevent a child from starting the vehicle. The safety agency said that there have been three reports stating that 2004–06 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 manual transmission trucks could be started despite the driver's foot not being on the clutch.
